Description :

With The Flower and the Butterfly , Kathleen Roby explores a pictorial territory where abstraction, gesture, and visual poetry converge. The composition is constructed through a layering of materials, spontaneous lines, and fragments of writing, creating an abstract landscape rich in movement.

Luminous turquoise touches emerge within a palette dominated by earthy, pinkish, and greyish tones. These color contrasts give the canvas a unique breath, like light passing through the painted surface.

Sketched, almost figurative forms appear in the controlled chaos of the composition. They subtly evoke organic elements — a flower, a butterfly, perhaps — leaving room for the viewer's interpretation.

This piece fits perfectly into:

• Contemporary or minimalist living room — the artwork brings depth and energy to a clean, uncluttered setting.

• Interior in neutral or natural tones — pink, grey and turquoise shades create a soft and lively contrast.

• Artistic or creative space — the richness of gesture and the spontaneity of the gesture stimulate the imagination.

• Eclectic decor or art collection — textures and signs easily interact with other contemporary works.

• Large, bright wall — the composition breathes particularly well in an open space.
